Mary has been a loyal member of Zonta International, an international executive service organization dedicated to improving the status of women since 1976, when she enthusiastically joined the Zonta Club of Shemiran in Tehran, Iran.  She was the club's youngest member and is seated second from the right in the photo below.   France de la Chaise Mouton, a Past International President, is the guest speaker at the Tehran, Iran event
 

 Due to an unexpected revolution in Iran, Mary moved to the United States in 1979 and immediately joined the Zonta Club of Bethesda-Silver Spring, which is now the Zonta Club of Mongomery County.

 

Mary has been a very active Zontian both in her club and on the International level.  She has attended eleven Zonta International Conventions.
 

She attended her first International Convention, which was held in Denver, Colorado in 1978, as one of seven members who represented the Zonta Club of Shemiran.  A very young Mary appears second from the right.
